Someone saw this. Was it you? Bowen

The 27th of July this year – a Thursday. The time was about 2:00pm.

A male person is alleging that he was assaulted by another male outside a licensed premises in Herbert Street, Bowen, after being ejected from the licensed premises for unruly behaviour.

Cue the “karma” comments, but understand that given the current publicity surrounding one-punch incidents and alcohol-fuelled violence, police will always fully investigate a complaint of assault regardless of the circumstances leading up to the event.

Police investigations to date have been unable to establish whether or not an assault actually occurred. However, after viewing inconclusive CCTV footage, we have observed several persons in very close proximity to where the victim has alleged the assault occurred. These persons appear to be watching some sort of incident just out of camera range.

If one of these persons was you, and you happened to notice any altercation taking place outside a licensed premises on this date, please contact the Bowen Police Station or Policelink, quoting reference QP1701333639.

If you have information for police, contact Policelink on 131 444 or provide information using the online form 24hrs per day.

You can report information about crime anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a registered charity and community volunteer organisation, by calling 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersqld.com.au 24hrs per day.
