Do you recognise this logo? You might be able to help police return found property
At 4.45 pm Friday, September 15, Mackay Police were on patrol when they observed a utility with an aluminium tray and a large aluminium tool box on the tray waiting at the traffic lights on the Bruce Highway turning right onto Mackay Bucasia Road. As this vehicle made the turn the door of the toolbox came open and a black case containing a power tool fell out from it onto the road. The driver of the vehicle kept going.
Police were able to stop and recover the property however the driver of the vehicle did not realise it had happened and has kept going.
Police are now trying to locate the owner of property; the only clue to locating the owner is this snapshot taken of the actual car as the property fell out.
From the photograph, the vehicle has been identified as a silver Mitsubishi Triton with a logo on the side of the vehicle. This logo may be the only way in which we will be able to trace it.
