Drum roll please… We have a winner for the Off Keys Mackay competition!
Time goes fast when you are having fun – all entries into our Off Keys Mackay car theft competition have been judged… and we are pleased to say that we have a winner.
Remember – the aim of the competition was for a resident of the Mackay police district to submit a video designed to raise awareness of a specific car theft issue – thieves stealing our car keys to steal our cars – and also to deliver at least one crime prevention message linked to this issue. We also asked of those submitting an entry to please think outside the box
We received some terrific entries from right around our district. Residents from Mackay itself, the Whitsundays and also a great little entry from all the way out west in Clermont – 7-year-old Joseph Whittaker and 3-year-old Nathaniel Whittaker, you did a spectacular job!
But there will only ever be one winner – the entrant who has been judged as the winner in Off Keys Mackay is Nina Wilson from Cannonvale! Here is her entry:
Top marks Nina – this is really good stuff. You have won a night for two at the Coral Sea Resort in Airlie Beach (with a free breakfast thrown in for good measure) as well as a cruise for two to the Great Barrier Reef donated by Cruise Whitsunday!
Great prizes for a really great effort on your part Nina. Congratulations
Thank you to Coral Sea Resort and Cruise Whitsunday for your immediate support for this competition before it actually became a competition – your generosity did not go unnoticed.
Thank you also to the residents of the Mackay police district who chose to participate and submit an entry. We ask anyone who watches the winning video to share it onto your own social media forums. Through some originality and also the use of humour, we think this video finds a way to stick to your subconscious and plant a thought provoking seed.
If it does that and causes us to change the way that we view our car keys then every second of this competition has been worth it.
Nina, this hammock is yours – go and get it!
