Residents at a unit at the Eastern end of Bridge Road in Mackay have woken up to a nasty problem.

Between 11:30 pm and 6:45 am this morning, someone has entered their unit through a closed but unlocked rear door.  Once inside the crook has found two sets of car keys left on a coffee table which belonged to two cars parked nearby.

One set of car keys were used to access a car which was then searched, a black wallet containing cash was stolen from inside the car.

The second set of car keys were used to steal a black 2009 model Ford Falcon sedan registration number 612 SHV. Minor damage is visible on the passenger side front end of the stolen car – it also has a very loud exhaust system.  An image of the stolen car is expected to be available for us to share with you later today.
