Vandals back at Finch Hatton Gorge

Vandals back at Finch Hatton Gorge

Image of the Wheel of Fire swimming hole – Finch Hatton Gorge

Along with many other people I travelled to the Finch Hatton Gorge area last weekend for Fathers day.

The walking trails in the area lead to water holes that are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The views along the trails can be nothing short of spectacular.

If you have a good tolerance to freezing ice cold water, by all means have a swim!

Lots of breath taking scenery along the lengthy walk

The Finch Hatton Road car parking area has been a happy hunting ground for thieves and vandals in the past – many warning signs are present in the car park area advising visitors to ensure their car is locked and valuables removed.

This has lead to a reduction in reported thefts from cars and also vandalism in recent times.

However between 12:00pm and 1:3 pm on September 5, vandals have smashed the front windscreen of a parked white 2017 model campervan while the travellers were exploring the area.

If you have any information regarding this matter we urge you to contact the Finch Hatton police station on 0749 583 120 (not a 24 hour station) or you can call PoliceLink on 131 444.  The police report number to refer to is QP1701556771.

If you have information for police, contact Policelink on 131 444 or provide information using the online form 24hrs per day.

You can report information about crime anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a registered charity and community volunteer organisation, by calling 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersqld.com.au 24hrs per day.
