Why do they never fall? Burglary in North Mackay
Although we don’t see crooks breaking into a home via an elevated balcony every day – we see it often enough to recognize that crooks definitely consider them viable entry points. If they can access your balcony in any way, they will – then they will check if the access door on the balcony is locked or not.
They frequently are not – our assumptions that an elevated balcony door is a safe door is off the mark.
A crook has accessed an elevated balcony at a unit in Martin Street, North Mackay with the burglary being confirmed at 2pm on September 7. Climbing skills were required in this instance – the crook has climbed from the lower balcony up onto the elevated balcony successfully. The sliding door on the elevated balcony was not locked – this was the entry point.
Once inside a large black Thorn television has been stolen.
